On Thursday, September 3, 2026, the Museum of Polish History in Warsaw hosted the Baltic Energy Conference, organized by ORLEN under the honorary patronage of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and themed “Cooperation for a Resilient Future.” The Polish Wind Energy Association supported the event as a partner, and experts from Wind Industry Hub were involved in developing the event’s agenda.

In the area of offshore wind energy, the closed-door roundtable discussion “Towards a Baltic Offshore Growth and Resilience Pact” was opened by Janusz Gajowiecki, President of the Polish Wind Energy Association (PSEW) and the Wind Industry Hub (WIH), who summarized the current state of offshore wind development in the Baltic Sea in his presentation, outlined the challenges, and encouraged participants to engage in discussion. The discussion focused, among other things, on how the Baltic Sea and the North Sea can jointly strengthen the scale of the European offshore industry, how to reconcile lower energy costs with supply chain competitiveness, and how to protect the region’s energy infrastructure.

During the conference, ORLEN and 13 partners from nine countries in the region signed an agreement establishing the Baltic Energy Initiative. The topics discussed in Warsaw will be continued at the Offshore Wind Poland 2026 Conference (November 17–18, Warsaw), as part of the Baltic track of the Baltic Offshore Strategy Summit (BOSS).
