During three extremely exciting days, the participants of the trip – MPs, local government officials, representatives of ministries, journalists and industry experts – travelled along the route Szczecin-Świnoujście-Kołobrzeg-Ustka -Łeba-Choczewo-Tri-City route to see for themselves the growing potential of the offshore wind energy sector. In recent years, port, production and infrastructure facilities have been built along the Polish coast, providing jobs for several thousand skilled workers, stimulating regional entrepreneurship and giving a boost to the development of the whole of northern Poland 👏
The route included installation terminals, shipyards, factories, R&D infrastructure and operational and service bases. Thanks to sailing out to sea near the Baltic Power offshore wind farm, we saw the first offshore turbines in Poland with our own eyes! In addition, we took a look at the work on the offshore and onshore connection infrastructure for the Baltica2 project. During the three-day trip, we saw facilities that had just been put into operation, as well as those with a wonderful history spanning several decades 💡
We would like to thank all our partners for their warm welcome and for revealing the secrets of their business. We believe that organising study visits to such places allows us to understand the essence of the wind energy supply chain:
✅ Vestas nacelle factory
✅ Szczecin Shipyard ‘Wulkan’ sp. z o.o.
✅ Euro Terminal Ltd. in Świnoujście
✅ Świnoujście Offshore Terminal | ORLEN Neptun
✅ Construction of an operational and service base for the Baltica 2 offshore wind farm in Ustka | PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna | Ørsted
✅ Baltic Power operational and service base in Łeba
✅ Construction of the Baltica 2 Onshore Transformer Station in Choczewo | PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna | Ørsted
✅ Centrum Techniki Okrętowej S.A.
✅ Baltic Industrial Group
✅ Baltic Towers
In order to continue the development of the sector, a stable, long-term project schedule and a clear political and legal environment are needed. It is thanks to these factors that investors decide to allocate capital to the Polish offshore wind sector, creating jobs, generating GDP, increasing Poland’s energy security and decarbonising the economy 📈
We invite you to view the photo gallery from the second part of the trip and to read the trip brochure.
Offshore wind shapes the Polish economy – and we are witnessing it!
