On October 29, at the PAP Press Center, Business & Science Poland presented the report “A Clear Path to Industry.” The main conclusion: well-executed decarbonization can increase the competitiveness of Polish companies in global markets and strengthen the security and independence of the economy. This requires a long-term industrial policy, stable investment financing, access to clean energy, and regulations that do not hinder business growth.

🎙️ The report was presented by Witold Strzelecki, managing director of BSP. The following individuals participated in the discussion:
🔹 Michał Jaros, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Development and Technology
🔹 Maciej Jakubik, Director of the Department of Industrial Policy and Defense Industry, Ministry of Development and Technology
🔹 Dominika Taranko, Vice President, Wind Industry Hub
🔹 Adam Gniazdowski, Senior Manager of External Relations & ESG, Qemetica
🔹 Aleksander Śniegocki, President of the Management Board, Institute for Reforms

Dominika Taranko noted that in recent years, awareness of the importance of industrial policy for the success of the energy transition has grown. In her opinion, the development of renewable energy must be linked to the creation of a domestic supply chain:

“We place too much emphasis on the energy transition; we focus on adding those gigawatts of renewable energy to the mix. We completely overlook the fact that this is an infrastructure project, that these are massive capital investments that have the potential to benefit the economy if we have our own supply chain and participate in these projects as well.”

The report’s authors recommend, among other things, building domestic expertise—rather than merely assembling equipment—in areas such as offshore wind energy, grid infrastructure, and recycling, as well as strengthening local content requirements. We have been working toward this goal from the very beginning: we support Polish manufacturing and service companies so that they can meaningfully participate in wind energy investments in Poland and Europe.

We congratulate BSP on the report and thank them for inviting us to this interview.
