Threats are on the rise, so security and adaptability are becoming strategic issues. How can we protect infrastructure, develop technologies, and build sustainable economic advantages? Participants at the BALTIC CONNECTIONS SUMMIT 2026 in Szczecin discussed these issues last week.

The discussion was moderated by Dominika Taranko, vice president of Wind Industry Hub. The panel included:
🔹 Michał Handzlik, president of ARP TFI
🔹 Maciej Bukowski, Director of the Energy and Resilience Program at the Casimir Pulaski Foundation
🔹 Prof. Szczepan Stempiński of the University of Szczecin, Special Representative of the Mayor of Szczecin for Security

Dominika Taranko noted that energy security and physical security are now converging into a single issue:

“Just a few years ago, we treated energy security and physical security as two separate issues. Today, defense and security technologies are becoming an integral part of the energy sector’s supply chains. We must think of them together.”

This also presents an opportunity for the domestic supply chain. Companies that combine expertise in energy and defense can become a vital link in the resilience of the entire economy.

We thank the organizers and panelists for the discussion
