I3FLOAT is an ambitious European large-scale project designed to strengthen Europe’s leadership in floating wind energy by fostering innovation and interregional collaboration. As part of this effort, I3FLOAT is developing a collaborative Floating Wind Strategic Innovation Agenda, which will serve both as a technological and strategic reference for the sector, and as a key input to the two project’s upcoming Open Calls. You may find more information in the attached presentation.
So far, the consortium has drafted an initial version of the innovation agenda, structured into areas, subareas, and innovation lines. In the coming months, we invite all stakeholders to actively contribute through two participation phases:
- From now until Friday, May 8, you may provide feedback and proposed changes to the text of the innovation lines using the following link: I3FLOAT – Floating Wind Strategic Innovation Agenda – Innovation Lines feedback. By clicking on the link, the first thing you will see is some brief instructions on how to provide feedback. It is a very simple process.
- In June, we will invite the sector once again to participate in the prioritisation of the final innovation lines.
We strongly encourage your organisation to take part in this collaborative process, helping shape the future of floating wind innovation in Europe. All contributors will receive a digital copy of the completed innovation agenda once it is finalised and will be acknowledged in the final version. In September 2026 and April 2027, I3FLOAT will launch two Open Calls to support SMEs developing innovations aligned with the agenda’s priorities. Each selected company will be eligible for grants of up to €60,000, contributing to a total of €3 million mobilised.
We would also like to warmly invite you to the PSEW Conference in Świnoujście, where we will be hosting further workshops on floating wind energy technology. These will take place on the second day of the event – Tuesday 9 June 2026. The detailed agenda can be found here.
