Strengthening Poland’s wind supply chain – insights from our 5 February meeting.
Last week, SSW had the pleasure of hosting at our Warsaw office, the Working Group on the Supply Chain in the wind sector coordinated by SSW and Wind Industry Hub. The Working Group operates within the structures of Polskie Stowarzyszenie Energetyki Wiatrowej.
The meeting brought together industry representatives to discuss the most pressing developments shaping the wind sector in Poland and across Europe.
The highlight of the meeting was a guest contribution from Svenn-Børge Vatland and Gyrid Espeland of Norwegian Offshore Wind, who presented an overview of the offshore wind market in Norway, opportunities for Polish companies in the Norwegian offshore wind sector, and Norway’s ambitious plans for developing floating wind farm technology in the North Sea and the Norwegian Sea.
The discussion covered key regulatory and market developments affecting the wind supply chain in Poland and across Europe. Michał Forycki from Wind Industry Hub presented the latest information on the legislative works affecting the sector, controversies surrounding the National Energy and Climate Plan, as well as positive signals from the Ministry of Infrastructure regarding the update of the Spatial Development Plan for Polish Maritime Areas.
Katarzyna Kuśnierek and Hubert Wysoczański from SSW presented the main principles of the Industrial Decarbonisation Accelerator Act, the draft of which leaked recently, as well as key information on the State Procurement Policy 2026–2029, which is expected to be adopted by the government soon.
The meeting also featured a discussion on the Investment Pact for Offshore Wind Energy in the North Seas and the record-breaking offshore auction in the United Kingdom.
The event was followed by a networking session, giving participants the opportunity to exchange views and continue discussions in a more informal setting.
The substantive part of the meeting was developed by: Dominika Taranko, Michał Forycki, Hubert Wysoczański, and Katarzyna Kuśnierek.
A big thank you to everyone who joined us for an engaging and forward‑looking discussion. We encourage all PSEW members interested in shaping the wind supply chain to join the group’s ongoing work and discussions.
