On 13 January, the Senate Innovation in Economy Team held a meeting at the Polish Senate. Representatives of the Wind Industry Hub Foundation and the Polish Wind Energy Association, Janusz Gajowiecki and Piotr Czopek, were in attendance.
The discussion focused, among other things, on the development of the offshore wind sector in Poland. For this reason, Maciej Mierzwinski from CEE Energy Group presented the assumptions of the Polish Strategy for the Development of the Offshore Wind Farm Industry. The document, authored by WIH, PSEW and CEE Energy Group, diagnoses the needs of the domestic sector and proposes specific solutions through 10 implementation packages that should be launched as a matter of priority, i.e. by the end of 2026. At the heart of the Strategy are the Priority Implementation Programmes – a set of key market segments which (based on detailed market and economic analyses, experience, synergies and safety aspects) should be developed in Poland. The solutions concern specific, short-term actions as well as directional proposals for implementation in the medium and long term.
The meeting, which brought together representatives of key institutions, ministries, investors and the supply chain, was an excellent forum for discussing the development of Local Content in the offshore wind sector in Poland.
