On November 17, Stockholm hosted the Swedish-Polish Business Summit, which brought together representatives of business, government administration, and the financial sector from Poland and Sweden. The event, organized by Business Sweden in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, the Ministry of Development and Technology, the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, and the Polish Embassy in Stockholm, aimed to deepen economic cooperation between the two countries, based on the strategic partnership agreement signed by the Prime Ministers in Harpsund in 2024. The event was attended by representatives of the Wind Industry Hub Foundation and the Polish Wind Energy Association – Janusz Gajowiecki, Dominika Taranko, and Piotr Czopek.

The summit opened with short video speeches by the Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden, Ulf Kristersson, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, Donald Tusk, emphasizing the importance of economic dialogue and the Prime Ministers’ support for joint initiatives. The opening session featured speeches by Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Sweden, Andrzej Domański, Minister of Finance and Economy of Poland, Maja Lundbäck, State Secretary at the Ministry of Energy, Entrepreneurship and Industry Maja Lundbäck, and Secretary of State and Government Plenipotentiary for Strategic Energy Infrastructure Wojciech Wrochna. The speakers presented the main areas of cooperation in innovation, energy, economic security, and economic resilience.

The event brought together over 150 carefully selected participants, primarily CEOs of leading companies from Poland and Sweden, as well as representatives of business organizations, members of parliament, and government officials. The main topics of the Summit were innovation, clean energy, digitalization, and cooperation between defense industries. The session devoted to the role of Swedish and Polish business in supporting Ukraine was attended by, among others, the Chairman of the Council for Cooperation with Ukraine and the Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Polish Sejm, Prof. Paweł Kowal, and the Swedish Government’s Special Envoy for Ukraine, Ulrik Tideström. The speakers presented activities related to the reconstruction of Ukraine, and Swedish (Scania) and Polish (PESA) companies shared their experiences of doing business in that country. During the Summit, the institutions responsible for export credit support—EKN from Sweden and KUKE from Poland—signed a letter of intent on cooperation in Ukraine.

The afternoon part of the event included parallel thematic sessions on energy decarbonization, sustainable infrastructure, digitalization, and cooperation in the defense industry.

On the sidelines of the Summit, Minister Andrzej Domański met with Benjamin Dousa, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade, and Elisabeth Svantesson, Minister of Finance. During a networking cocktail party hosted by the Polish Embassy in Stockholm, the Summit was summarized by Andrzej Dycha, President of the Polish Investment and Trade Agency, Annika Stål, Vice President of Business Sweden, and Karolina Ostrzyniewska, Polish Ambassador.
