\n\u2705 implementing up to 15 GW of new installations per year from 2031,
\n\u2705 improving national regulatory frameworks, including CfD and PPA mechanisms,
\n\u2705 accelerating the electrification of the economy,
\n\u2705 improving spatial planning for offshore areas,
\n\u2705 supporting strategic manufacturing capabilities in Europe,
\n\u2705 aligning the requirements of the Net Zero Industry Act (NZIA),
\n\u2705 strengthening cooperation on critical infrastructure protection.<\/p>\n
In return, industry commits to:
\n\u2714\ufe0fstrengthening Europe’s energy security and competitiveness,
\n\u2714\ufe0freducing energy costs,
\n\u2714\ufe0fstimulating economic activity worth \u20ac1 trillion,
\n\u2714\ufe0femploying 91,000 people by 2031, reaching a total of 187,000 jobs in the offshore wind sector (75% in the North Sea region),
\n\u2714\ufe0finvesting \u20ac9.5 billion in production capacity by 2030,
\n\u2714\ufe0freducing LCOE by 30% by 2040 compared to 2025 levels,
\n\u2714\ufe0fbuilding lasting value for local communities and energy consumers.<\/p>\n
Why are Polish organisations signing the North Sea Pact?<\/p>\n
Because the scale of the planned investments and the stable, long-term framework for cooperation create a real opportunity for Polish industry, which is already building up expertise for offshore wind projects in the Baltic Sea and can scale it up to the North Sea markets.<\/p>\n
What does this mean for Poland \u2753<\/p>\n
For Polish companies and suppliers, it means access to the largest offshore wind market in the world, the opportunity to participate in projects setting European technological standards, and a real path to Poland’s inclusion in pan-European value chains serving both the Baltic and North Seas.<\/p>\n
The participation of WIH and PSEW in the Pact is a clear signal: the Polish offshore wind sector wants to be an active partner in the European energy transition, co-create regulations and standards, and benefit from economies of scale that will accelerate the development of the industry in our region as well.<\/p>\n
