Increasing safety in the Baltic Sea, building ferries and research vessels, and strengthening the position of Polish entrepreneurs in the maritime and offshore wind industries. These were the main themes of Prime Minister Donald Tusk<\/b>‘s<\/strong> speech at the 11th International Maritime Congress<\/b>, which took place on May 15-16 in Szczecin.<\/p>\n

On the second day of the event, one of the four thematic blocks was entirely dedicated to issues related to offshore wind energy, shipbuilding dedicated to this sector, and the role of ports.<\/p>\n

Dominika Taranko<\/b> took part in a panel discussion entitled \u201cOffshore wind energy \u2013 where are we now?\u201d, sharing the institutional, financial and systemic tools recommended in the Polish Strategy for the Development of Offshore Wind Farms for implementing the document’s objectives. During the discussion, the Vice-President of the Foundation also raised issues such as the internal consolidation opportunities available on the Polish market and the possibility of building a competitive position for the domestic industry, as well as contractual tools used in the European industry to support local supply chains.     The discussion was moderated by Jakub Budzy\u0144ski<\/b>, President of the Board of the Polish Maritime Chamber of Wind Energy.<\/p>\n

    At the end of the panel discussion, Dominika Taranko<\/strong> gave a presentation discussing current topics in the debate on the development of the domestic industry for the offshore wind energy sector in Poland, which formed a bridge to the next session: \u201cThe shipbuilding industry in the offshore sector,\u201d moderated by the Vice President of WIH, with the participation of:<\/p>\n

      During the panel, participants discussed, among other things, the contract awarded to the Szczecin Shipyard \u201cWulkan\u201d for the construction of a new buoy tender for the Maritime Office in Szczecin, foundations for offshore wind farms, the EPC agreement between Crist Offshore and Ocean Winds, certification standards in the offshore wind industry, cybersecurity threats, the role of the multi-purpose tug Fairplay-37 in offshore wind projects, the potential for establishing a Polish offshore wind installation and service company, and Elektryka Morska’s international experience.<\/p>\n
