On September 10, 2024, a press conference \u201cOffshore wind – it pays off!<\/strong><\/b>\u201d was held. The opening presentation was made by Janusz Gajowiecki<\/strong><\/b>, President of the Polish Wind Energy Association<\/strong><\/b> and Wind Industry Hub Foundation<\/strong><\/b>, and then the conversation with leading investors in the domestic market was moderated by Dominika Taranko<\/strong><\/b>, Vice President<\/strong><\/b> and Managing Director of Wind Industry Hub<\/strong><\/b>.<\/p>\n

\u2757\ud83d\udca8\ud83d\udcb6Energy from offshore wind will contribute to lower electricity prices in the market, according to a recent analysis by the Polish Wind Energy Association.<\/p>\n

\u2757\ud83d\udca8\ud83d\udcb6 Experts have calculated that if 18 GW of offshore wind power is introduced into the energy mix, it will reduce the price of energy by up to 50%, compared to the price achieved if only 5.9 GW is introduced.<\/p>\n

\u2757\ud83d\udca8\ud83d\udcb6 Offshore development also means a number of savings for the economy in the form of lower fuel purchase costs (coal, gas), or lower costs of obtaining CO2 emission allowances.<\/p>\n

\u2757\ud83d\udca8\ud83d\udcb6 As calculated by PWEA experts in the \u201cOffshore – it pays off\u201d analysis, in the scenario envisaging the development of OWE to 5.9 GW, the cost of purchasing electricity by end users in 2026 to 2040 will be PLN 1033.3 billion, and in the case of the scenario of including 18 GW from OWE by 2040, the cost will be PLN 841.9 billion – so the level of savings is enormous, amounting to more than PLN 190 billion.<\/p>\n

The meeting attracted a lot of media interest – key industry editors and radio and TV stations showed up. The conference presenting the analysis was attended by key investors implementing offshore wind power projects in Poland: PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna<\/strong><\/b>, ORLEN<\/strong><\/b> S.A.<\/strong><\/b>, Equinor<\/strong><\/b> and Polenergia Group<\/strong><\/b> – thank you for participating in this very important debate!<\/p>\n
